If you want to enjoy flying as a recreational pilot or build a career as commercial pilot or instructor – we have you covered. We are Tasmania’s premier flight training organisation, providing extensive CASA approved licences, endorsements and ratings, together with nationally recognised vocational courses in aviation for domestic and overseas students.

 

We are located at Cambridge Aerodrome in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Our island state provides the best in flight training with varied terrain and superb scenery; good weather conditions and a great range of destinations and open airspace in which to fly.

 

Our instructors are the best in the business with extensive industry experience, qualifications and testing approvals.

Our Commercial Pilot and Instrument Rating diplomas are vocational qualifications for aspiring new pilots and private/commercial pilots

Ratings

Expand your skills and employ-ability with our instrument, flight instructor and multi-engine rating courses. Learn full-time or part-time at your pace with instructors dedicated to your individual development.

Endorsements

Add to your capabilities with our low-level flying, retractable undercarriage, manual propeller and aircraft-type specific endorsements.

Testing & assessment

Extensive testing services for CASA licences, endorsements and ratings; and theory testing is provided onsite. We offer assessment and recognition-of-prior-learning in vocational education.

OUR AIRCRAFT AND SIMULATORS

Cessna 172

The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is a 4-seat piston single-engine basic trainer. The aircraft has a fixed landing gear, fixed pitch propeller and is ideally suited as an initial training aircraft.

Cessna 206

The Cessna 206 Stationair is a 6-seat piston single-engine aircraft. The aircraft has fixed landing gear, constant speed propeller and is used primarily for Commercial Pilot training and for remote flights.

Beechcraft Duchess

The Beechcraft Duchess if a 4 seat, twin engine, “all weather” aircraft, specially designed for multi-engine training and instrument ratings.

Cessna Titan

The C404 Cessna Titan is a twin-engined, propeller driven light aircraft. These aircraft are operated under the Airlines of Tasmania banner on Regular Public Transport services across Tasmania.

Britten Norman Islander

The Britten Norman Islander aircraft is a 10 seat, twin engine, “all weather” aircraft, specially designed to operate to and from remote airfields such as Melaleuca in Tasmania’s remote southwest.

Elite GA Simulator

Our Elite AirTrainer AT-11i is used in commercial licence and instrument rating programs . It is certified for the accrual of instrument time and flight test and recency requirements.

Piper Navajo

The PA31 Piper Navajo is an excellent charter aircraft that provides one of the most comfortable cabins in its class. A popular aircraft for up to 7 passengers that require charter flights.

737 Simulator

Par Avion Flying Training have opened a high-fidelity, full-size simulator of the Boeing 737-800. The simulator can be used for familiarisation in advanced avionics, systems and crew procedures.
